In a stunning display of skill and determination, Distria Krasniqi has clinched the gold medal at the Paris Grand Slam. The Kosovar judoka showcased her prowess in the under 52 kg category, emerging victorious over Britain’s Chelsie Giles in a gripping final.

Krasniqi’s journey to the top began with a bye in the first round, swiftly followed by a decisive victory against French judoka Leonie Gonzalez in the second round. She secured her win with an Ippon, setting the tone for her subsequent matches.

The third round saw Krasniqi outperform South Korean judoka Seyun Jang with two Waza-ari scores for Ippon. Her skill and strategy were evident as she navigated through the competition.

In the quarterfinals, Krasniqi faced off against Khorloodoi Bishrelt from the United Arab Emirates. The match concluded with Krasniqi winning by three penalties for Ippon, demonstrating her tactical acumen.

Her semifinal bout was against Japanese judoka Kisumi Omori, which Krasniqi won, paving her way to the final. Her victory in the finals against Giles not only highlights her exceptional talent but also marks a significant achievement for the Kosovar judoka.
