U.S. Moves Toward $14 Million Arms Deal for Kosova

Share

The U.S. State Department has informed Congress about a proposed license to export defense equipment and military services to Kosova worth at least $14 million, according to congressional sources cited by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

The notification, sent to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, includes defense articles, technical data, and military-related services for Kosova. Specific details about the weapons or equipment involved have not yet been made public.

The development comes as American lawmakers increasingly call for stronger U.S. support for Kosova’s membership in NATO.

In recent years, Kosova has significantly expanded military cooperation with the United States. In 2025, Kosova received American-made drones and armored vehicles, while previously requesting to purchase 200 “Javelin” anti-tank missiles valued at around $75 million.

Kosova Security Force is currently undergoing its transformation into a full army, a process strongly backed by Washington.

Kosova is also preparing to join the International Stabilization Force for Gaza as part of the U.S.-backed regional peace initiative.
