The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti through a press conference said that the way has already been opened for Vetting and the establishment of the Bureau for Confiscation of Assets.

He announced that the Venice Commission has confirmed to the Government of Kosovo that the Vetting and confiscation of unjustifiable property can be continued.

Kurti said that the reform of the judiciary within the influence of the current mechanisms of the current actors is not possible.

Therefore, according to him, the re-evaluation and verification of the skills of the heads of the judiciary and prosecutorial power is starting with external mechanisms.

The reform of the judiciary within the influence of the current mechanisms of the current actors is not possible, we have confirmed this with the opinions received by the Venice Commission. “There is no doubt that the mechanisms built have the potential to ensure independence, they can not do the same under the direction of judges and prosecutors with the suspicion of lack of ethics, professionalism and efficiency.”

“Therefore, we start the re-evaluation and verification of the skills of the heads of the judiciary and prosecutorial power with external mechanisms, independent of any intervention,” said Kurti.
