The 2nd Annual Skenderbeu Street Fair in the Bronx

The 2nd Annual Gjergj Kastrioti “Skenderbeu” Street Fair was held on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, at the corner of Arthur Ave and Cresent Ave in the Bronx, New York. This fair is an exciting event for Albanian-Americans in the area, as it celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Albania and its most famous hero, Skanderbeg.

The fair featured a wide range of activities, including live music performances by local Albanian musicians, traditional Albanian dance performances, and cultural exhibits showcasing Albanian art, clothing, and food. Visitors also had the opportunity to participate in a variety of games.

Food was a highlight of the event, with many vendors serving traditional Albanian dishes such as burek, cebapa, and fli. The aroma of grilled meat and spices filled the air, attracting visitors with its delicious scent.

One of the most exciting events of the fair was the parade, which featured Albanian-American organizations and individuals dressed in traditional Albanian clothing, carrying the Albanian flag and playing music on traditional Albanian instruments. The parade brought a festive and lively atmosphere to the streets of the Bronx, celebrating the pride of the Albanian community.
