A Showcase of the Patricia Nugee Scanderbeg Antiquarian Book Collection

On March 11th and 12th, the Massachusetts Albanian American Society Besa and the Saint George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral hosted an exciting event showcasing the Patricia Nugee Scanderbeg Antiquarian Book Collection. The collection, consisting of 37 books dating back to 1510, is part of Ms. Nugee’s private collection of antiquarian books and has been exhibited in numerous public institutions around the world.

Located at 523 East Broadway in South Boston, the Saint George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral provided a beautiful setting for the event. Attendees were able to browse through the impressive collection, which included books on a wide range of topics, such as history, literature, art, and science. Some of the books on display were rare and valuable editions, with intricate illustrations and bindings.

The event provided a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the history of Albania and its cultural heritage. The collection reflects the rich literary tradition of Albania and highlights the contributions of Albanian writers and scholars throughout history. Attendees were able to explore the evolution of Albanian literature and the impact of foreign influences on the country’s intellectual development.

In addition to viewing the collection, attendees were able to meet Ms. Nugee and learn about her passion for antiquarian books. Ms. Nugee, who has been collecting books for over 40 years, has a deep appreciation for the beauty and value of rare books. Her collection reflects her dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of Albania and sharing it with the world.
