Eduard Dervishaj, an Albanian who has played a key role in Spanish football’s success, celebrated Spain’s historic World Cup 2026 triumph as part of the national team’s official delegation.

Born and raised in Tirana, Dervishaj moved to Spain in 1997 and built an impressive career within the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Today, he serves as Director of International Relations and Operations, after previously holding the position of Deputy General Secretary.

The 65-year-old was alongside Spain’s national team during their World Cup journey in North America, witnessing the country lift the trophy for the second time in its history. After the victory, Dervishaj shared photos with the World Cup trophy and Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, thanking everyone who contributed to the achievement.

Throughout his career, Dervishaj has been involved in organizing four UEFA Champions League finals and was recently appointed to lead Spain’s organizational project for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

Before making his name in Spanish football, Dervishaj also contributed to Albanian football. He served as General Secretary of the Albanian Football Federation from 1992 to 1996 and previously worked as head coach of Dinamo Tirana.
