Apple will stop producing the iPod after 21 years

Share

Apple has announced that it will discontinue production of the iPod Touch, ending a widely acclaimed device for revolutionizing the way people listen to music.

According to foreign media, when the first iPod was launched in 2001, it could store 1000 songs while today there are more than 90 million songs in Apple’s broadcast service.

The iPod Touch was designed by the same team that later invented the iPhone, which quickly overshadowed the iPod.

Otherwise, Apple last updated the iPod in 2019.

There have been several iPod models over the years – including the Nano and Shuffle – but the iPod Touch, released in 2007, is the latest model.

Apple says it will remain available to buy “until available in stock”
