For the third consecutive day, protesters gathered in Tirana to oppose the planned development project in the protected Zvërnec area. The demonstration took place outside the Prime Minister’s Office, where participants demanded the cancellation of the project and rejected Prime Minister Edi Rama’s call for dialogue.
Holding banners and chanting anti-government slogans, protesters insisted they were not interested in negotiations with the government. One of the most repeated chants during the rally was: “Rama to jail, Berisha to jail.”
Several banners carried strong messages directed at Albania’s political leadership. Among the most visible was the slogan: “Resignation, not dialogue” reflecting the protesters’ response to Rama’s invitation for talks.
Demonstrators voiced concerns about the project’s potential impact on the environment, biodiversity, and the natural resources of the Zvërnec area. They called on authorities to listen to local communities and reconsider plans for the development.
The protest remained peaceful, but organizers warned that demonstrations will continue in the coming days if their demands are not addressed.
