A new survey from the International Republican Institute (IRI) shows that U.S. President Donald Trump enjoys his highest approval ratings in the Balkans from Kosovo.
According to the poll, 74% of Kosovars view Trump favorably, placing Kosovo at the very top of the region. North Macedonia follows with 66%, Montenegro with 52%, Serbia with 44%, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 34%.
The numbers reflect the strong pro-American sentiment that has long defined Kosovo’s relationship with the United States. From NATO’s intervention in 1999 to Washington’s continued role in Kosovo’s state-building process, the U.S. remains seen as the country’s closest ally.
In comparison, Trump’s ratings in neighboring countries are far more mixed. In Serbia, for example, only 44% expressed a favorable view, while support was even lower in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
