Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams has taken another symbolic step in his connection with Albania, now officially registered as a resident in Administrative Unit No. 2 in Tirana.
The update was shared by local official Florian Pullazi, who welcomed Adams at the municipal offices. During the visit, Adams completed registration procedures, further formalizing his ties to the Albanian capital.
This development comes shortly after Adams was granted Albanian citizenship by President Bajram Begaj, receiving an Albanian passport upon his own request.
Pullazi described Adams as “a great friend of Albanians,” highlighting his long-standing relationship with the Albanian-American community in the United States. Adams, a former NYPD captain and prominent political figure, has often emphasized public safety throughout his career.
According to Adams himself, obtaining Albanian citizenship reflects the deep and historic connection between New York City and the Albanian diaspora in the U.S.
