Kurti’s full Facebook post:

I ended my very fruitful visit to the United States of America in New York, after three days of various meetings in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island.

I had the honor to be a guest at the World Affairs Forum, an organization based in Stamford, Connecitic, which since 1946 has been organizing public debates with leaders, diplomats, economists, Nobel laureates, etc., on global topics in which the United States has an important role to play. United States of America.

I spoke about the achievements of our government and the two main purposes of my visit to our friendly country and our most important ally: to foster interest in investing in Kosovo and to advance cooperation with the US government in the field of defense and security.

From there, I invited American businessmen, as well as Albanian-American ones, to invest in Kosovo for profitable enterprises for them and for even more rapid socio-economic development for the Republic of Kosovo.

In Massachusetts I had the pleasure of being received in a meeting by the governor of this state, Charles Baker. We talked about investment opportunities and the commitment to deepening cooperation with the Albanian-American community in Massachusetts.

At the invitation of Professor Michael Kennedy and the Watson Institute, I gave a lecture and then an open conversation with students and professors at Brown University, Rhode Island, about activism, democracy, and the illegal occupation of Ukraine by Russia. I stressed that now it is more important than ever for the world’s democracies and their citizens to stay united.

Together with the Minister of Health, dr. Rifat Latifin we had a productive meeting with the directors of New York Medical College. We discussed ways our government and the university can work together to bring the necessary improvements to Kosovo’s health institutions.

In Boston I paid tribute to the graves of two Albanian writers, statesmen and activists who marked the twentieth century, Fan Noli and Faik Konica. Later, together with Father Theofan Kaja, I met with our diaspora in the historic Albanian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George, where Noli held the first mass in Albanian, on March 23, 1908. I also visited the Noli Memorial Library. Archivist Neka Doko introduced us to Nolian works and heritage, very precious to the people and our history.

In Yonkers, New York, I stopped in honor of the graves of three Bytyqi brothers. Their sacrifice, patriotism and humanism is a national value on which the Republic of Kosovo is built, as an independent state and on which the entire Albanian nation progresses. We will never stop demanding that the perpetrators and executors of Agron, Mehmet and Ylli, like all the other killed by the Serbian state, be discovered and brought to justice.

On the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Albanian Pan Federation “Vatra”, I met in New York the membership of the oldest Albanian association in the US. “Vatra” has played an important role in the struggle of Albanians for freedom and self-determination. I was asked to continue the mission by committing to the international affirmation of Kosovo.

During my visit to the Albanian school “Alba Life”, which operates in all neighborhoods of New York, I stressed the importance of learning the Albanian language for integration without assimilation. I appreciated the dedication and efforts of the diaspora for the preservation of the Albanian language and culture among the generations and the education of the new generations.

As part of our government’s initiative for Dialogue with the Diaspora, in the Bronx and Staten Island, I met our expatriates living in these parts of New York. Together we discussed the many successes of our first year in office and the strategy for including the diaspora as an essential contributor to Kosovo’s further progress.

On the importance of cultural diplomacy and the connection of Kosovo artists with the artists of our diaspora, I talked to artists from different fields, whom I met in New York, at a reception organized by our well-known photographer, Fadil Berisha
