The Kosovo Philharmonic last night closed the season with an extraordinary concert that was held in “Skenderbeu” square in Pristina.

The large-scale cantata “Carmina Burana” by composer Carl Orff, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana, was presented for the first time to the Kosovar public.

280 people on stage donated unforgettable moments to the public. Performed by the Kosovo Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, University of Prishtina Choir “Hasan Prishtina”, University of Peja Choir “Haxhi Zeka”, Children’s Choir “Okarina” and soloists Adelina Paloja, Arta Jashari – soprano, Safet Berisha – contractor and Xhemil Rexhepi – bass.

The concert was organized in cooperation with the Kosovo Opera and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Prishtina.

This special event was attended by many personalities from the political and cultural life of the Republic of Kosovo as well as from the international diplomatic staff accredited in Kosovo. Among them, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the US Ambassador, Jeff Hovenier, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Saranda Bogujevci, the Mayor of Prishtina, Perparim Rama, members of the Assembly of Kosovo, the Deputy Minister of MCYS, Sejnur Veshall, and many personalities and citizens who filled the space of “Skanderbeg” square.
