The Albanian community in Ireland has marked a historic moment with the opening of the first ever Albanian-language school in Dublin.
The school officially started its activity on September 11, 2025, at Blanchardstown Library, Dublin 15, thanks to the initiative of the Albanian Book Lovers Club and its founders, Liljana Picari and Arjana Rama.
The opening ceremony gathered children, parents, and members of the Albanian community. The Ambassador of Albania to Ireland, Uran Ferizi, welcomed the initiative with a special message, confirming that the Embassy will support the school with educational packages.
On their first day, students learned about the Albanian alphabet, the history of the first Albanian school in Korçë, and the national flag, using textbooks and materials provided by the Center for Diaspora Publications.
