A historic moment for Albanians in the U.S. Navy! Alban Dervishi, originally from Tirana, will take command of the American warship USS Pearl Harbor this June.

The U.S. Embassy in Albania announced the news, sharing a video message from Dervishi himself. Born and raised in a military family in Tirana, he emigrated to the United States with his parents 25 years ago to pursue the American dream.

Now, after years of service and dedication in the U.S. Navy, he has reached an incredible milestone—becoming the commanding officer of one of the Navy’s warships. Dervishi expressed his deep pride in leading the USS Pearl Harbor and representing both his heritage and his adopted country.

This marks another proud achievement for Albanians in the U.S., proving that hard work and ambition can turn dreams into reality.
