Ceremonia e “Ngritjes së Flamurit Shqiptar” është mbajtur sot në “Lower Manhattan” në Nju Jork.
Për nder të 110 Vjetorit të Pavarësisë së Shqipërisë, kjo ceremoni u organizua nga Federata Panshqiptare “VATRA” në partneritet me Zyrën e Kryetarit të Bashkisë për Çështjet e Emigrantëve në Nju Jork.
Aty, si i ftuar special, ishte i pranishëm edhe kryebashkiaku i qytetit të Nju Jorkut, Erik Adams. Ai bëri “Shqiponjën ??” me duar para se të mbajë fjalimin e tij dhe të ngritë flamurin shqiptar ?? në Bowling Green në Lower Manhattan (para statujës së demit).
“…dhe kështu jam i lumtur që jam këtu sot për të ngritur flamurin në 110-vjetorin se si e njohim pavarësinë e Shqipërisë dhe për të nderuar të gjithë shqiptarët tanë amerikanë që kanë përmirësuar prej kohësh pesë lagjet e këtij qyteti të mahnitshëm dhe njerëzve të mrekullueshëm. Ndaj Gëzuar Ditën e Pavarësisë.” – tha ndër të tjera z. Adams.
Ai gjithashtu pranoi një dhuratë nga kryetari i Federatës Panshqiptare të Amerikës-VATRA, Elmi Berisha.
