Albania has witnessed an impressive surge in tourism, with over 2 million visitors flocking to the country in the first four months of 2024. According to data from private tour operators, this year is expected to see a 30% increase in foreign visitors compared to 2023, which concluded with a record 10.1 million tourists. This significant growth highlights Albania’s rising appeal as a travel destination, drawing more international attention and boosting the local economy.

April alone saw a remarkable influx of 794,000 foreign tourists, bringing the total number of visitors to over 2.3 million in the first quarter of the year. This upward trend indicates a promising future for Albania’s tourism sector, suggesting that the country’s efforts to enhance its tourism infrastructure and marketing are yielding positive results. The diverse attractions, ranging from pristine beaches to historical sites, continue to captivate tourists from around the globe.

Further bolstering this growth, recent data revealed that over 110 certified maritime tour operators and more than 600 certified tour guides are now operating in Albania. This certification process ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors, underlining the country’s commitment to providing high-quality tourism services. As Albania continues to enhance its tourism offerings, it is poised to solidify its position as a top destination for international travelers.
