Kosovar judoka Laura Fazliu has won the silver medal at the prestigious Judo Grand Prix Linz taking place in Linz, Austria.
Competing in the women’s -63kg category, Fazliu delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, overcoming several strong opponents to reach the final.
Her path to the medal began with a victory against Slovenia’s Leila Mazouzi. In the quarterfinals, the Kosova judoka defeated Croatia’s Nina Cvjetko to secure a place in the semifinals.
In the semifinal bout, Fazliu faced Germany’s Sara-Joy Bauer and defeated her with an ippon, earning a spot in the tournament’s grand final.
However, in the final match, Fazliu was defeated by Brazilian champion Rafaela Silva, who secured the win with a ‘waza-ari’.
