Kosovar judoka Distria Krasniqi has achieved an extraordinary milestone by ranking number one on the latest International Judo Federation (IJF) world ranking list — not just in her weight category, but across all women’s divisions.
Krasniqi, who competes in the –52 kg category, now leads the updated global rankings with a total of 7,055 points. This rise follows her recent silver medal at the Judo World Championships held in Hungary.
Prior to the latest ranking update, she was placed second in her category with 5,655 points, behind France’s Amandine Buchard, who had 5,700 points. Thanks to her continued success, Krasniqi has now overtaken all competitors.
Importantly, she also leads the overall women’s global ranking across all categories. Behind her are France’s Romane Dicko (+78 kg) with 6,650 points and Italy’s Alice Bellandi (–78 kg) with 6,595 points.
The IJF world ranking is based on results from major tournaments such as Grand Slams, Grand Prix, Masters events, and continental championships. These points play a crucial role in Olympic qualification and seedings for major competitions.
