Distria Krasniqi has emerged victorious as the European judo champion in the under 52-kilogram category at the European Judo Championship held in Zagreb, Croatia. In a thrilling final, the Olympic champion secured her title by defeating Italian judoka Odette Giuffrida with a waza-ari.

Throughout the championship, Krasniqi displayed remarkable skill and determination, dominating each of her matches. In the semifinals, the judoka from Peja, Kosova, triumphed over Spain’s Ariane Toro Soler, securing at least a silver medal. However, her sights were set on gold, and she delivered an outstanding performance in the final to claim the top spot on the podium.

Prior to the final, Krasniqi defeated Croatian Ana Viktorija in the quarterfinals, solidifying her place among the top four judokas in Europe in the under 52-kilogram category. With a seamless victory in the first round and a decisive win against Ukrainian Anna Borodina in the second, Krasniqi demonstrated her exceptional skill and determination on her path to victory.

While Krasniqi soared to success, another competitor from Kosova, Flaka Loxha, faced a tough challenge and was eliminated in the second round after breezing through the first.
