Athlete Luiza Gega is honored with a medal by Prime Minister Rama

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, presented the athlete Gega with the “Great Cord of the Star of Public Appreciation” medal.

The Albanian athlete, Luiza Gega, who was declared the European champion in the 3,000 meters hurdles in the European Athletics Championship in Germany, has been awarded the “Great Cordon of the Star of Public Appreciation” medal.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, presented the athlete Gega with the medal in a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Prime Minister of Albania with the participation of high officials and personalities from various fields.

In his speech at the ceremony, Prime Minister Rama said that Luiza has given sport and Albania new letters of nobility.

“Her entrepreneurship is amazing and when we talk and think about what Luiza gave to Albania, the image of an Albania that succeeds, that succeeds with its head held high among all the others”, said Rama.

Rama added that the “Great Cord of the Star of Public Gratitude” medal is simply the humble expression of admiration, respect and gratitude.

Athlete Gega said in her speech that today she feels more excited than ever. “I decided to come with red and black colors because I feel prouder than ever. I feel honored and appreciated for this day”, said Gega.

Before the ceremony of her evaluation, the European champion in athletics, Luiza Gega, was welcomed on the Boulevard “Dëshmoret e Kombit” in Tirana amid the enthusiasm of the citizens.

A few days ago, Luiza Gega won the gold medal at the European Athletics Championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase race and was declared European champion.
