The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, commemorated the 23rd anniversary of the liberation of Pristina.
She said that the realization of the dream of freedom was made possible by KLA soldiers and NATO peacekeepers, to whom she said she bows down for their work.
23 years ago, Prishtina felt freedom. In remembrance of this day, we bow before all those who helped and contributed to our freedom. KLA girls and boys on the one hand and NATO peacekeepers on the other, enabled the realization of the generational dream of freedom and independence. “We will always remember this day, honoring all the martyrs who fell, maintaining our freedom and strengthening the Republic every day and more!”, Wrote Osmani.
Today marks 23 years since the withdrawal of Serbian military and paramilitary criminal forces from Kosovo, thus marking the end of the Serbian occupation.
The Serbian army surrendered to the Liberation Army war on the ground and NATO bombing that forced it to sign the capitulation agreement on June 9, 1999 in Kumanovo.
