Osmani meets the Lithuanian Prime Minister

After the meeting with her Lithuanian counterpart, President Vjosa Osmani was also received by the Prime Minister of this country, Ingrida Simonyte.

Osmani asked for Lithuania ‘s support in Kosovo’ s aspirations for membership in important world organizations, but placed special emphasis on the request for assistance for membership in the Council of Europe, where Kosovo today officially submitted the application.

“Kosovo is grateful for the support of Lithuania over the years, while now the support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe is key, as well as in our aspirations towards EU and NATO integration,” Osmani wrote.

Osmani said that strengthening cooperation with our allies remains a key priority of the foreign policy of Kosovo and Lithuania.

“At a crucial time for the future of our continent, we agreed with the Prime Minister to intensify mutual cooperation in foreign and security policy.”

Osmani said that in the meeting they had in Vilnius with Simonyte, the topic of discussion was the security situation in Europe after the start of the Russian war against Ukraine, as well as the increase of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense, economy, information technology. and in other areas.
