The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, has announced that two vehicles of the Kosovo Police, which were carrying police officers to the border crossings in the north, were attacked on Friday morning.

In a press conference on Friday, Svecla said that police officers who were going to the border crossings for their change, were attacked with hand grenades and AK-47 weapons. Minister Sveçla called the attack “terrorist”.

“Today around 07:40 there was an attack on the Kosovo Police who were going to carry out the change at the border crossings.

“This attack, already proven with a hand grenade and AK-47, as a terrorist act was done with the aim of intimidating police officers but also all citizens of Kosovo”, said Sveçla. According to him, in the last three days there have been four attacks in that area against the Kosovo Police.
