Kosova’s top leaders have expressed strong support for the United States following Washington’s military operation in Venezuela and the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces carried out airstrikes in Caracas as part of an anti-narcotics operation, claiming that Maduro had been captured. The United States has accused Maduro of leading what it calls a “narco-state” and of manipulating electoral processes to remain in power.

Kosova’s President, Vjosa Osmani, said in a statement on X that Kosova stands firmly alongside the United States and President Trump in confronting what she described as Venezuela’s “narco-terrorist regime.” She emphasized that Kosova understands the impact of decisive American leadership, noting that the country’s own liberation is a direct result of U.S. determination.

“At a time when the United States is confronting tyranny in Venezuela, the transatlantic community must stand united behind American leadership and shared democratic values,” Osmani said.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti also voiced support for the U.S. operation, calling accountability for state actors involved in drug trafficking essential to the global fight against narcotics. In a Facebook post, Kurti said Kosova fully supports U.S. efforts to combat organized crime and protect Western democratic values.

“Kosova, as a strategic ally of the United States and NATO, offers full support in the fight against drug trafficking and against the undermining of Western democratic values by hostile proxy actors, both in our region and beyond,” Kurti said.

The United States has increased pressure on the Maduro-led government through sanctions and military actions, alleging that Venezuela plays a central role in drug trafficking from South America to the U.S. Following the arrest, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that criminal drug-related charges have been filed against Maduro and his wife.
