Albanian-American candidate Diamant Hysenaj has advanced to the general election for New York’s 14th Congressional District, marking a historic first for the Albanian-American community in New York City politics.
Following the primary election, Hysenaj secured a place on the November ballot after a competitive race in which he began as an underdog. His campaign emphasized economic opportunity, community representation, and the preservation of the American Dream.
With this result, Hysenaj becomes the first Albanian-American candidate to advance to a congressional general election in New York City history.
New York’s 14th Congressional District covers parts of the Bronx and Queens, and will hold its general election on November 3, 2026, when voters will decide who will represent the district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
