Today, September 21, a memorial service was held in Tirana to honor American activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed on September 10, 2025, during a speech at Utah Valley University in the United States.
The ceremony began at 6:00 PM in front of the Academy of Arts, where citizens, civil society representatives, and supporters gathered. Participants placed both Albanian and American flags alongside Kirk’s portrait, expressing respect and gratitude for the well-known conservative figure.
At 8:00 PM, the event continued with a LIVE broadcast on the facade of the University of Arts, showing messages and footage from the movement Kirk founded, Turning Point USA.
Charlie Kirk, just 30 years old, was one of the leading voices of American conservatism. He founded Turning Point USA, an organization dedicated to promoting conservative values and individual freedom among young people. He was also widely recognized for his close ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
U.S. authorities confirmed that Kirk was shot and killed by 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, who is now facing charges of aggravated murder and other offenses. Prosecutors described the attack as a premeditated act motivated by Kirk’s political views.
