Over 21,000 People in Kosova Named After Muslim Holidays

Share

As Eid al-Fitr is celebrated, an interesting cultural detail stands out in Kosova: 21,576 people carry names directly linked to Muslim holidays.

The most common is Bajram, with 11,770 people, followed by Ramadan with 9,591. Other variations appear much less frequently, including Bayram (77), Ramazan (75), and Eid (63).

These names are deeply connected to tradition, often given to children born during festive periods, symbolizing joy and blessing. Even today, they remain a strong reflection of cultural and religious identity in Kosova, showing how tradition continues to shape everyday life.
