Albanian American Soprano Singer Ermonela Jaho returns at The Metropolitan Opera

Share

Albanian American Soprano Singer Ermonela Jaho has decided to return to perform at The Metropolitan Opera in New York.

She confirmed this through a post on her Facebook.

Traviata was the first opera I saw when a teenager, which inspired me to become an opera singer. I promised myself, I will not die without singing it at least once in my life. From that moment in Albania until now I have sung this opera 301 times. I gave so much from myself to this character to the point that I thought I don’t have more to give to Violetta. After my last production in 2020, I realized how much I missed this music just by hearing a few bars. I am back now at the The Metropolitan Opera to challenge myself and rediscover my heart, my soul by matching it with Violetta’s incredible one. Lucky to have such a wonderful team around Ismael Jordi as Alfredo, Armatuvshin Enkhbat as Germont father, Marco Armigliato and everyone involved. Let’s take this spiritual journey together…” – Jaho wrote on Facebook.
