She has the backing of both the Republican Party and the Independent Party of Connecticut, and will appear on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2026.
Sarelli already holds elected office as a member of Westport’s Representative Town Meeting (RTM), where she sits on four committees: Public Protection, Education, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Zoning.
She is also active in the town’s civic and nonprofit life. For four years she served as president of Neighbors & Newcomers of Westport, and she sits on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
According to the biography published on her campaign website, her father worked to reconcile families caught in blood feuds in Albania, mediating between them and helping them find a path toward peace.
Sarelli says that experience shaped how she approaches public service: by listening, building trust and finding common ground.
With her Senate bid, she aims to bring her experience as an Albanian immigrant, entrepreneur, mother, community advocate and local government official to state politics.
