Laert Sallaku, an Albanian-American, has made his community proud by achieving an exceptional feat in the heart of New York City. Originally from Tirana, Sallaku moved to New York in 2017. This year, he graduated from the NYPD Academy with the highest average score of 9.96 out of 600 students, securing the first position.
Sallaku’s remarkable accomplishment didn’t go unnoticed. He was honored with the Mayor’s Award, acknowledging his dedication and outstanding performance. Sallaku’s journey from being a high school student in Tirana to becoming the valedictorian at the NYPD Academy is an inspiring example for many aspiring law enforcement officers, both in the Albanian-American community and beyond.
