Pojani in Fier, that is included in the program “100 villages”, returned last night to the center of celebrations and musky tradition.
The “Wheat Festival” brought together hundreds of residents, making Pojan the epicenter of the festivities and an attractive place for visitors.
The mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi described as fantastic the atmosphere created in the ancient city of Apollonia.
“This is a fantastic holiday. Not only from Fier, but also from all other regions have come here to participate together and celebrate the ‘Wheat Festival’ or the feast of new bread. It is a fantastic environment, a fantastic atmosphere. People have come with a lot of desire to celebrate together and enjoy these wonderful moments. We are in the heart of Myzeqe, in the heart of the place where wheat is produced, so I believe that all this celebration we are having is a continuation of all those celebrations that we have organized other times to promote customs, traditions, customs, cuisine, the special things that each area has and to do what we all intend to do, to make our city more and more livable and pleasant for all people” said Subashi.
Visitors to Apollonia enjoyed last night this holiday that came as a combination of folklore with demonstrations of agricultural mechanics, with fairs of wheat and bread products.
“Wheat Festival” in Myzeqe is an annual celebration conceived as a parade of traditional costumes, songs and dances, beauty and hospitality of Myzeqe.
Hundreds of people joined the celebration, which brought together dozens of farmers, wheat growers and bakers.
“Wheat Festival” is one of the biggest holidays organized by the Municipality of Fier in the framework of promoting the musket tradition. Held in June of each year and accompanied by festive rituals created over the centuries, this local holiday already constitutes another added value of cultural tourism.
