Share

In the framework of the Prespa Forum that is being held in Northern Macedonia, today is being discussed within the session “Western Balkans – Maneuvering in turbulent times”.

Present are Gabriel Escobar, US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, UK Envoy to the Western Balkans and many other diplomats.

Among them is the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gervalla.

In her speech, she said that Kosovo is the most pro-European, pro-Western and pro-NATO country.

However, the Kosovar chief diplomat said that this orientation, which is key for the country, is challenged by various aspects of security.

“I think security is not just about weapons, but all other aspects. “One of them is false news”, said Minister Gervalla in her speech.

Minister Gervalla said that Kosovo and the region face more or less the same problems and that close cooperation is needed between the countries.

“Russia’s influence in the region is in different ways and one of them is through false news,” Gervalla said.

She said that if the EU is interested in security in the Western Balkans, then the region should be included in the EU.
