The Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Fabrizio Bucci, spoke with positive marks regarding the integration of Albania in the large European family.
“The world has changed since the war. It is important for Europe to understand that we have a new reality, which we did not want, but we are living. I hope that by the end of this year there will be a opening of negotiations. “Because this war that has been going on for several months and has brought thousands of victims has given us a very good lesson”, said the ambassador.
Regarding the steps that Albania should follow, Bucci said that the Albanian state has made progress in the required recommendations, and the time has come for Albania to open negotiations with the EU.
“There are reforms in justice, reforms against organized crime and a series of other reforms such as the one in justice and public administration”, said the ambassador.
Bucci was present in Shkodra during the activities that were held within the “Italian Week”. Italy is one of the countries that has supported Albania in the process of integration into the European Union and expects the opening of negotiations this year.
