The British newspaper, The Guardian, has listed the 40 most beautiful places to go to the beach in Europe, including Albania and Montenegro.
In the list of the prestigious newspaper, the last is Albania, the most beautiful beach of which is considered “Porto Palermo”, located in the village of Qeparo in Vlora.
Qeparo is a magical village that offers spectacular color combinations: the blue of the sea, the green of the hills and the white of the limestone rock formations that emerge from the dramatic slopes of the surrounding mountains. There are many hidden beaches, but the main one, called Porto Palermo, is beautifully undeveloped and perfect for relaxing in the pebble or exploring the nearby rocky peninsula, topped by a 200-year-old castle. “A short walk away from the coast, the Stone Beach Hotel (studio apartments from 70 €) has rooms with a view from the south over the Ionian Sea”, writes The Guradian.
While the most beautiful beach in Montenegro, the British daily has rated it “Drobni Pijesak”, located near Budva.
The Budva Riviera of Montenegro is one of the largest honeypots in the country and it can be difficult to escape the crowds. But in Drobni Pijesak, a little further south, there are emerald waters surrounded by wooded mountains, sun loungers for rent and two beach restaurants offering great grilled Montenegrin food. Hotel Riva (double from 77 € B&B) in nearby Petrovac overlooks the city beach and is a short walk from the popular Lucice beach. It is worth upgrading to a room overlooking the sea. “There is also a trail that goes from Petrovac to the beach in Perazica Do”, this newspaper writes.
The five most beautiful beaches according to The Guardian are located in Greece: Fteri, Elafonisi, Sarakiniko, Plaka and Karavostasi.
