Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will bid farewell today.
She will be followed by a funeral ceremony at Washington National Cathedral.
The ceremony will be attended by President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at the invitation of the Albright family, who have already arrived in the US.
Among other things, US President Joe Biden will hold an eulogy for Madeleine Albright on Wednesday at Washington National Cathedral, where former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will also speak.
“When I think of Madeleine, I will always remember her fervent belief that ‘America is a necessary nation,'” Biden said.
At today’s funeral, Albright’s three daughters will also speak and musicians Chris Botti, Judy Collins and Herbie Hancock will pay their respects.
Albright, who died at the age of 84 on March 23, left behind her three daughters, Anne, Alice and Katie, and six grandchildren, as well as her sister and brother.
