U.S. President Donald J. Trump has personally extended his deepest gratitude to Kosovo for accepting deportees from third countries, praising the move as a powerful act of cooperation.
In a letter to President Vjosa Osmani‑Sadriu, Trump wrote of his “sincere gratitude” for what he described as the “tremendous help in accepting citizens from countries outside your own.” He emphasized that Kosovo’s decision demonstrates a robust—and compassionate—partnership with the United States.
“Your leadership in this matter is a testament to the strength and compassion of the Kosovar people” Trump added.
The correspondence underscores the close alliance between the U.S. and Kosovo—built on mutual respect, shared democratic ideals, and a united outlook on a peaceful and prosperous future. Trump reiterated:
“Thank you again for your bold leadership and for standing as a true friend of the United States.”
The letter, dated August 4, 2025, concludes with Trump expressing his eagerness to continue working closely with President Osmani in the years ahead. He also extends warm wishes from the First Lady.
