Admir Molla, an Eagleton Fellow, recently completed his tenure in the United States Senate. Sharing his thoughts on this journey, he expressed gratitude for the experience and reflected on the challenges he faced.

In a post on his social media, Molla said, “My time in the United States Senate as an Eagleton Fellow has officially come to an end. It was a bittersweet journey, but I am grateful for the experience.”

Despite facing challenges in an institution that can be exclusive and directly impact individuals from diverse backgrounds like himself, Molla chose to persevere and make his voice heard. He emphasized the importance of remaining true to one’s core values and continuing to push forward.

“It was a difficult decision, but I am proud that I persevered and advocated for my beliefs. This experience has taught me the importance of occupying spaces like these while remaining true to our core values and continuing to push forward, one day at a time” he added.

Molla also stressed the significance of people from diverse backgrounds occupying such roles and remembering their roots. He said, “While I understand and respect those who choose not to engage with these institutions, I believe it’s important for people from diverse backgrounds to end up in these roles and remember where they came from. We must stay true to our values and not compromise them for the sake of personal gain.”
