Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in his speech late Friday, referring to the rocket attack on a train station in eastern Ukraine as a Russian war crime said it should be one of the charges that will be presented in any future court.
About 52 people were killed, including five children, when a rocket hit the Kramatorsk railway station on Friday.
The US has also blamed Russia, saying it believes it used a short-range ballistic missile.
But Russia has denied responsibility.
However, Zelenskiy said he expected “a strong, global response.”
“Like the Bucha massacre, like many other Russian war crimes, the Kramatorsk rocket attack should be one of the charges in court, which will happen,” he was quoted as saying.
Zelenskiy also reiterated his call for more weapons to be provided to Ukraine and for greater sanctions to be imposed on Russia.
“The pressure on Russia must increase. It is necessary to introduce a complete energy embargo – for oil, gas. It is energy exports that provide the bulk of Russia’s profits. “Russian banks must also be completely disconnected from the global financial system.”
Zelenskiy added that Ukraine had provided details of the military equipment it requires.
“Any delay in providing such weapons to Ukraine, any justification can mean only one thing: the respective politicians want to help the Russian leadership more than the Ukrainians.”
