The United States will announce new sanctions against Russia on Wednesday.

According to a member of the administration of US President Joe Biden, the sanctions will be in cooperation with the G7, writes CNN.

He said the comprehensive package would impose significant costs on Russia and send it further on the path of economic, financial and technological isolation.

The new sanctions package will ban all new investment in Russia, increase sanctions on financial institutions and state-owned enterprises in Russia, and sanction Russian government officials and members of their families.

“These measures will degrade key instruments of Russian state power, impose acute and immediate economic damage on Russia, and hold accountable the Russian kleptocracy that finances and supports Putin’s war,” the official said.

The official added that they have already concluded that Russia committed war crimes in Ukraine and the information from Bucha seems to show further evidence of war crimes.
