The prime minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novallic, and Slobodan Stanovic, a businessman linked to Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, are the latest individuals the United States has sanctioned.

On October 3, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury said that these two people were sanctioned for undermining democratic institutions “for personal gain and to reward their patronage networks”.

“We will continue to target individuals who destabilize the region, as well as their supporters, and hold them accountable,” said Treasury Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian E. Nelson.

According to the announcement of the US Department of the Treasury, Prime Minister Fadil Novallic misused pensioners’ data for the benefit of his party, violating the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
