Share

NATO foreign ministers will meet in Brussels today to discuss Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine,” the alliance said.

Moscow does not give up its ambitions in Ukraine. “We are now seeing a significant movement of troops away from Kiev, to regroup, rearm and refuel, and they are shifting their focus to the east,” said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg before the meeting.

Aiming and killing civilians is a war crime. “All the facts must be proven and all those responsible for these atrocities must be brought to justice.”

The ministers will arrive for talks from 15:30 local time (14:30 GMT) and will be joined by their counterparts from Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, Georgia and the European Union, and NATO partners in Asia. -Pacific – Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea.

“At a time when authoritarian powers are pushing for a rule-based international order, it is even more important that democracies stand together and defend our values,” Stoltenberg said in a statement issued by NATO.

The Allies are stepping up their support for Ukraine’s right to self-defense, including anti-tank weapons, air defense systems and other equipment, as well as increased humanitarian and financial assistance.

Allied foreign ministers will also discuss the development of NATO’s future strategic concept, to guide the Alliance’s adaptation to the new reality of global security.
