Vira Hyrych, a journalist at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, has died as a result of Russia’s missile attack on Kyiv on April 28.
That’s according to the Institute of Mass Information, Ukrinform reports.
Inna Kuznetsova, the editor-in-chief at the Ukrainian service of RFE/RL, confirmed this information.
During the shelling, a missile hit the journalist’s apartment, Kuznetsova added.
The shelling of Kyiv on April 28 took place during a visit by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Late on April 28, the Russians attacked the Ukrainian capital, with two missiles hitting the city’s Shevchenkivsky district. Initial reports said that ten people were injured and four people were hospitalized as a result of a rocket attack on an apartment block. According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, the building was partially destroyed.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said later that rescuers found a dead body under the rubble of the house.
