The nature park of the Shala valley has turned in recent years into one of the most attractive river destinations of the Albanian Alps.
The Administration of Protected Areas Shkodër informs ATSH that “during the period January-September, this valley, which is traversed by the river Shala, was the preferred destination for 32,900 tourists, of which 21,040 were locals and 11,860 were foreigners. “.
“The Shala Valley, a virgin river area, which in recent years has been included in the guides of tourist agencies and is attracting extraordinary attention, due to its untouched nature and the many opportunities it offers”, said ADZM Shkodër.
While visiting this valley, adventurers can enjoy exploring the area by boat, climbing the surrounding peaks with spectacular views, and taking a dip in the fresh water of the Shala River, which runs through the valley.
Before Shala Valley became so popular, the residents of the area knew it by the name “Lekë’s Stone” which is related to the history of Lekë Dukagjini, a symbol of the Dukagjini province. What makes it special is the fact that there is no telephone line or electricity line in the area.
This allows tourists to fully enjoy the beautiful nature and crystal water, while capturing the most beautiful moments and fantastic landscapes on their phones or cameras.
