Record-Breaking Visitors Flock to Gjergj Kastrioti Museum in Krujë!

The Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu Museum in Krujë has experienced a record-breaking influx of visitors, attracting 86,708 guests in the first seven months of 2024. This remarkable figure represents a 90% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The museum, named after the legendary Albanian national hero, has become a must-visit destination for both foreign tourists and local visitors.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the impressive statistics on social media, along with captivating images of the museum, which has rapidly gained recognition as a major tourist attraction. The museum’s extensive collection of artifacts, documents, and original bibliographies offers a comprehensive overview of Albanian history from the 15th century and beyond. It provides an enriching experience that appeals to a wide audience.

The museum features several well-curated pavilions, including the Antiquity and Early Middle Ages Pavilion, showcasing ceramic, bronze, iron, and copper artifacts. The Albanian Principalities Pavilion displays authentic reproductions and documents, while the Ottoman Occupation Pavilion chronicles the resistance against Ottoman rule. Visitors can also explore the Medieval Castles Pavilion, Skënderbeu’s Chancellery, and a collection of original icons and writings, including the famous 1462 bell and 15th-century swords.
