Kosovar judo star Distria Krasniqi has once again made history, securing a silver medal at the prestigious Upper Austria Grand Prix 2025!

Krasniqi, a former Olympic gold medalist, displayed dominance throughout the tournament. After a bye in the first round, she smashed Jenna Schurr with an Ippon in the second round. Her momentum continued in the quarterfinals, where she defeated Serbian competitor Nikolina Nišavić with another Ippon!

The semifinals saw an intense battle, but Krasniqi prevailed over Hungary’s Reka Pupp with a Waza-ari, securing her place in the final showdown.

In the gold medal match, Krasniqi fought fiercely against Japan’s Iroha Oi, but after a hard-fought contest, she had to settle for silver.
