Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, highlighted how Donald Trump’s Social Truth is currently overtaking Twitter in the number of App Store downloads.

Musk posted a “screenshot” on Twitter on Tuesday, noting that “Truth Social is currently beating Twitter and TikTok in the Apple Store.”

The App Store ranking tracks the number of downloads and installs.

At the time of writing, Truth Social remained in first place in the App Store, while Twitter was in second place.

However, Truth Social was only released in February, as Twitter launched its iPhone app more than a decade ago.

Twitter has about 217 million daily active users, and in early April it was estimated that Truth Social had far fewer, with the number of its active users at just over half a million.

While initially considered a “free expression” alternative to Twitter, Truth Social has also seen its share of weaknesses.

Trump himself has only made one post on Social Truth since its inception. The former president also tried to remember the name of the platform during a rally in Ohio, calling it “Truth Central”.

Otherwise, Musk now owns Twitter after the company board accepted its $ 54.20 share offer, or $ 44 billion, on Monday afternoon.
