Elon Musk has returned to his old proposal to implant chips in human brains to control computers and smartphones with their minds.
This time Musk has come with concrete evidence, as he has published a video of a monkey playing ping-pong with his brain.
The technology known as “Neuralink” has already shocked the world
According to Musk, the main goal of this technology is for chips to be implanted in people’s brains, allowing those with paralysis to control things like smartphones and computers.
It was predicted that this would happen at the end of October, but Musk has announced the postponement of this project for a month.
The world’s richest man offered no explanation for the delay.
He simply tweeted: “Neuralink show on November 30th.”
Founded in 2016, Neuralink is developing implantable brain chips that are inserted into the regions of the mind that control movement.
Ultimately, the company wants to provide its implants to people to increase their intelligence.
The goal is to create a complete brain interface within 25 years.
Musk has claimed that the technology will stop humans from being overtaken by artificial intelligence, which he believes could one day turn against us.
Neuralink says it has already inserted its chips into the gray matter of mice and pigs.
But earlier this year, the firm was accused of animal cruelty amid claims that some of the monkeys involved in the tests had died.
Some experts are also concerned that the technology could be misused.
