NASA has awarded $150,000 to Ledia Shehu for her proposal titled “Physics-Based Multiscale Constitutive Model for ISRU-Based 3D-Printed Lunar Concrete.” The project aims to develop a model for 3D printing concrete using lunar materials by simulating the moon’s environment in a laboratory. This proposal was selected under NASA’s Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) program.
In addition to the financial support, NASA will provide assistance from its engineers and laboratories to advance the research. This funding and collaboration will enable deeper exploration into materials and methods for building on the moon.
