Zelensky urges Albania to restrict Russian tourists

Share

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, thanked Albania for the support it has given to his country in the fight against the Russian army.

Albania has joined Western sanctions against Russia, closed airspace to Russian aircraft and voted in favor of a United Nations resolution condemning Russia’s occupation of Ukraine.

Addressing the Albanian Parliament on Tuesday, Zelensky said that he is grateful to this country, which has not hesitated to support it.

He said that this attitude of Albania reminds him of the Albanian humanist, Mother Teresa.

“She taught us that good daily efforts can defeat evil. “I believe that together with all Europeans, we can stop this war,” Zelensky said.

He said his country was facing a “ruthless” war from Russia, which he said was trying to “resurrect a terrible tyranny”.

“We are seeing the Russian army shooting at children. People sheltered in bunkers have begun to rise. “In the areas liberated by Russia, people are being buried who have been found dead with their hands tied,” said Zelensky.

He called on Albania to limit the arrival of Russian tourists, saying that with them, it is not known who else can come.

“I want to limit the arrival of Russian tourists, because we can not know who is coming to you. “Maybe the killers who were in Bucha or the executioners in Mariupol,” Zelensky said, referring to two Ukrainian cities where Russian forces are suspected of committing serious crimes.
