The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, described the European Union (EU) – Western Balkans summit as a “complete failure”.
In a post on her Twitter account, von Ceamon noted that all six Western Balkan countries were invited to Brussels, but were not given anything.
“This EU-Western Balkans summit was a complete failure. This sends a really catastrophic signal. “He is just a happy person in this situation and he sits in the Kremlin,” Viola von Cramon wrote on Twitter.
She added that Bosnia and Herzegovina has not received the status of candidate for EU membership, even worse, Northern Macedonia and Albania have not started membership negotiations and Kosovo has not received visa liberalization.
The leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans met at a summit in Brussels on 23 June.
The leaders of the six Western Balkan countries complained about the lack of progress in their bids to join the European Union.
The same day, the European Union announced that it had granted Ukraine and Moldova candidate status for membership in the bloc.
